La dieta mediterranea
Spesso sentiamo nominare la dieta mediterranea come riferimento per mangiare correttamente. Essa viene spesso pubblicizzata come salutare e consigliabile per il sostegno del nostro benessere. Sappiamo però veramente che cosa si intenda con questo termine?
Talvolta si ritiene che lo stile alimentare mediterraneo preveda il consumo frequente di pasta, di pane, di pizza. Ciò non è del tutto corretto e va chiarificato.
Ancel Keys fu colui che definì per primo il concetto di “dieta mediterranea”. I cibi che realmente la caratterizzano sono semplici, poco trattati, poco elaborati e di provenienza locale. Si tratta quindi di uno stile alimentare sicuramente soddisfacente per il palato ma allo stesso modo leggero e libero da preparazioni eccessivamente complesse, sano e fantasioso ma sempre nel rispetto di gusti semplici e forse antichi.
